This position is Monday-Friday Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Vacations, Sick Leave and an additional 4 days of personal leave

Summary of the position:

The Activities Coordinator plans and implements a program of therapeutic and social activities for clients of the Adult Respite Center. The activities may include groups and individuals and they must meet the needs and interests of each individual client in areas of social, recreation, education and health promotion. The program should utilize Adult Care Center staff, as well as community partners, volunteers, and other entities within the facility to promote intergenerational participation and interaction.


• Assess and evaluate the recreational socialization, life skills, educational and health promotion needs and interests of each participant.
• Track all Volunteer information. Submit monthly reports as needed.
• Plan a structured seniors’ activity program and provide a monthly schedule of activities, following guidelines.
• Plan and implement meaningful field trips, including scheduling proper transportation and willingness to drive JABA vehicle.
• Utilize both paid and volunteer staff and special volunteer groups within the program.
• Facilitate site council meetings.
• Work with other entities and organizations within the facility, as well as local schools to establish and maintain intergenerational partnership.
• Operate & direct the program’s daily recreational activities.
• Assist with inventory of program equipment, supplies, and ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used properly.
• Enhance ongoing program through the use of outside groups and individuals.
• Maintain current file of community service, health promotion groups and individuals, and entertainment groups and individuals.
• Adhere to strict program budget guidelines, including ordering of all supplies as they relate to activity programs and monitoring spending for special events and client transportation.
• Participate in JABA Performance Appraisal System review with his/her supervisor.
